Recently, U2 whiner and moaner Bono asked a Yahoo audience What can we do to make poverty history? [The Ponderosa: We believe this to be the original post, but nothing is certain on the Internet.]

Because of people like you, leaders of the world’s richest countries met in July 2005 and made a number of historic promises to help end the kind of extreme poverty that is needlessly killing 9,000 people a day in Africa. Millions of lives and the future of a continent are at stake.

Well, Bono, how's this: educate backward-ass cultures on the the "Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations".

An all-volunteer team of free market scholars could travel the globe enlightening the ignorant on the benefits of economic freedom, wealth creation and liberty in general, beginning with Adam Smith's seminal work, moving on to Bastiat's The Law, Hayek's -- well, almost everything by Hayek, Friedman and Thomas Sowell.

We are happy to volunteer by enlightening the ignorant in Albany.
